24 tibutes. Only one will survive. The winner will revieve fame and riches. This is: The Hunger Games. Every year, as you know one girl and one boy from each district are randomly chosen to go to the yearly held Hunger Games in the capitol. These tributes will train to compete in a fight to the death on national television.These games are more than just entertainment. They are a way to recover from our past and the rebellion. We Send these tributes to show our complete power over the districts. But, we let one win, to show our mercy and forgivness toward the 12 districts.
But history has just changed yet again. Tributes Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen from district 12 came on the long journey to Panem's marvelous capitol, and stunned the crowd during the opening ceremony with a glorious representation on how we burn coal, which is the main export of district 12. This was where Katniss became known as Girl on Fire. Designers Cinna and Portia created costumes that appeared to engulf the in flames and will surely be remembered forever.
Later on, during his interview with Ceasar Flickerman, Peeta shared with all of Panem his Crush on Katniss. This introduced to us the starcrossed lovers of district 12. This love carried over into the games, when Peeta tried his hardest to make sure Katniss stayed safe. After an announcement that two tributes from the same district could win, Katniss went looking for Peeta and she found him injured in the leg by Tribute Cato from district 2, Katniss tended to his wounds and Probably saved his life.
As Peeta and Katniss proved their strengths in Art (Peeta) and Archery (Katniss), it became more apparent that these two companions could actually defeat the final, stronger opponent Cato (district 2). When it came to their last hours in the arena, a creature created by the gamemakers called muttations made an appearence. Each muttation resembled a tribute from this years games. While Katniss and Peeta escaped them by sitting on top the cornucopia, Cato was unable to reach the top due to the mutts, so Katniss shot his hand to make him fall into the ravenous pack. He died when Katniss shot another arrow, aimed at his skull, killing him instantly.Just when it seemed like all would turn out right, the Gamemaker made and announcement saying that they discovered that the previous adjustment to the rules was not allowed, so one of the two must die and the other will be named the victor.
Their unbreakable love could not allow this, so Katniss and Peeta grabbed some poisonous berries they had on hand and told themselves that they would commit suicide together on three. Just as the berries entered their lips, the Gamemakers announced to all of Panem the victors of the 74th Annual Hunger Games.
Their love shall continue to prosper all through the rest of their lives as they start their new lives in District 12's Victors Village. No one will ever forget the Star Crossed Lovers of District 12.
